Questions force thinking
Questions are tiring, they ask a person to do something. That is why questions are disastrous to writing. They completely interrupt the flow. Don’t you agree? When reading, we don't want to think too much. We just want to get to the next sentence. That is what makes declarative sentences so great. They ask nothing of the reader but to read them.

I agree that questions force thinking. But I disagree with your comment that this is disastrous for writing. On the contrary, a person can go through an entire book without thinking about it, and therefore without really comprehending it. Questions force readers to stop and process what it is they read and therefore engage them in a more active form of learning.
